Decided to look at golf carts being we were living in a golf cart community here in Port St Lucie in Riverland by GL Homes. Doing research online, following forums and looking at different carts here in Riverland I was really confused. Walking along the pickleball courts in Riverland you will see every brand of golf cart. You just have to at least look when buying a home in a golf cart community in Port St. Lucie.
The one factor I did notice when doing research is that buying from a reputable and local dealer is important. If you read the fine print on the warranty you will see the company will supply the parts but the dealer may charge labor and we all know labor is as expensive or more than the parts. That was one of the biggest caveats of buying a golf cart.
The second item seemed to be pickup and delivery if your cart needed repairs. What was the cost and just how quick could they pickup your golf cart. The third item was making your cart street legal which each manufacturer has a different cost and option to make your cart street legal. The roads you travel on must be 35 mph or less.
Most if not all the carts are made in China and may be assembled here in the US but I could not find a single cart made in the USA.

Some of the brands I looked at were Evolution, Denango, Dach, Epic and Costa. Prices range from $10,000 to $13,000 for a 4 seater facing forward. Each has unique characteristics, style and features. It’s like buying a car. Many are lifted golf carts with large knobby off road tires and others are standard height with street tires. I thought the standard height carts with the street tires rode the smoothest. Most feature keyless fobs, LED screens with bluetooth and Apple Car Play. You will also find stereo speakers and lighting as popular options. Most have small trunks in the back as well as locking glove boxes.
Located just outside of Riverland in Port St Lucie in the Publix shopping center is Ace of Carts. They recently opened up a store which is accessible from the Paseo in Riverland. This gives you the option to drive your cart there for repairs or updates and are very close to the community. They are probably the dealer I’m leaning towards for sheer convenience. Picking the golf cart is going to be the most challenging part but at least they have several great brands to choose from. Buying a home in Riverland almost mandates you have a golf cart. It is actually easier to get around the community with a cart than a car. You have to have a cart when living in one of the best golf cart communities in Port St. Lucie.
