A new Active Adult 55+ Community coming to Port St Lucie Florida. Joining the communities of Riverland, Telaro and Dell Webb Traditions . Catalina Palms at Sundance could be the sister community to Riverland. Built by Akel Homes there are 5 collections of homes with Gold being the Villa section. It goes from Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond is the largest homes in the community.
The floorplans were all very similar to Valencia at Riverland except they tweaked and added some additional features. They raised the ceilings to 9ft 4 inches instead of 9ft 2 inches in the Riverland homes and their top collection has standard 10ft ceilings. Some of the models added rear sliders to the master bedroom instead of windows for access to the patios. Other features they added were Icynene spray foam to the undersides of the roof for a cooler attic. They are using LG appliances instead of GE appliances. Kitchenaid is the appliance of choice in the Diamond Collection. They also offer true frameless shower enclosures and more Smart home options. There are also more models of homes to choose from. I would say they upped the offerings above GL Homes to be competitive in this market.
They offer 3 exterior packages the Transitional, Contemporary and Coastal themes. One item I did notice in their models was the multi-generational living options in which they converted two bedrooms to an in law suite featuring bedroom, living area and small fridge, sink and microwave.

Most communities have a social club and a separate sports complex. They are having the clubhouse with pool and restaurant/bar but are adding a smaller health club plus several small pickleball and tennis courts in each community. The will still have the shared master clubhouse/sports complex but are trying to give you neighborhood amenities as well. It’s a great idea for additional options.
