What’s it Like Living in Riverland in Port St. Lucie

I recently purchased a new home in Valencia Parc by GL Homes in the new community of Riverland. My question to the people who already have lived there. What’s is like living in Riverland in Port St. Lucie?

I first moved to Florida to Boca Raton in 1979 and lived right across the street from the beach. Coming from New Jersey it was paradise at 19 years old. I enjoyed living by the beach my entire time in Florida. My first house I purchased was walking distance to Deerfield Beach. I had lived in Boca till 1997 when I moved to a beach community in Jupiter called Xanadu by the Sea. It was a small home less than 200 ft walk to the beautiful beaches of Jupiter which is also know as one of the popular dog friendly beaches in Florida.

After living in Jupiter for 25 + years across the beach I decided for a drastic change and decided to buy in a 55+ Active Adult community. As a realtor for a long time I have been and gone through some of the nicest country club communities in the area from Admirals Cove to the Bear’s Club and everything in between. Talking with a friend one day at Pickleball he wanted to sell his home and was moving to Riverland and he proceeded to tell me about the community. I decide to check it out and did the Play & Stay at Riverland which for $99 we could stay for 3 days and 2 nights to check out the community.

Riverland Homes – Brand new construction

We decided to try the Play & Stay for a weekend and stayed in a lovely model home called the Bimini. It was part of the most popular Signature Collection of single family homes ranging from 2,000 to 2,400 sq. ft under air. It featured a single story open floorplan with 3 bedrooms plus a den. It also came with an optional golf cart garage. I’ve never owned a new home and really liked the tall ceilings, open floor plan and sense of a community at this age. We choose a lake lot with no one behind us as my home in Jupiter overlooks an expansive natural area.

Our Stay & Play included a day playing pickleball on one of the 53 pickleball courts. It was quite enjoyable meeting new friends that had similar interests. The next day we tried out the fitness center which was outstanding compared to even many public fitness centers. We used the Paseo and rode bikes to both places and afterwards enjoyed lunch at the resort pool and restaurant. To say the least I was quite impressed. That evening they gave us tickets for a show in the clubhouse which again was very nice.

For dinner we visited two of the local restaurants in Traditions in Port St . Lucie. We visited Pastaio Italian Restaurant. The service was incredible and the food was excellent. WE also tried Sake Too Japanese & Thai Restaurant. The food was also excellent there.

With all the amenities , new Riverland homes and attractions outside the gate in Port St. Lucie it was an excellent experience. After the weekend it was a easy decision to make and that’s why I’m living in Riverland in Port St. Lucie.
