Florida is a huge state and there are many great areas to live in and deciding which one can be a challenge. Some people will say the East Coast and others will say the West Coast and each coast has many different communities and lifestyles to be offered. The popularity of Florida 55+ communities seems to be increasing dramatically. Here in Port St. Lucie we have several wonderful Florida 55+ communities with amenities that you can only dream of. The advantage of Port St. Lucie is you still have the tropical winter weather for beautiful days come January. The other great feature to Port St. Lucie is the many new restaurants, shops and parks that are being built to accommodate the new communities.
Florida Communities for Boomers
The most popular and largest community for Boomers is Riverland by GL homes. It includes 4000 acres subdivided into four different communities each sharing a sports complex that is hard to rival. On the 24 acres you will find 53 pickle ball courts, 15 tennis courts and 20 bocce courts. The new Riverland fitness hub is a 12,000 ft.² facility with five group fitness studios for yoga, dance, Pilates with reformers, spinning, cross training and bungee fitness. The state-of-the-art fitness center has increased by 50% and offers a state-of-the-art spa. Our new River fresh Café has recently opened and is a great place to meet after a game or work out for a quick refresh. See amenities and facilities here in Riverland.
More Port St. Lucie 55+ Communities
Other popular communities nearby are Telaro at Tradition which is a 55+ community sitting just outside the gates of Riverland. Built by Mattamy Homes there will be approximately 400 single-family homes and villas in this community. It two has some amazing amenities on a much smaller scale than the Valencia’s at Riverland.
The other 55+ community here in Port St. Lucie is Del Webb at Traditions. It too is a much more community and similar in size to Telaro. You will find homes starting in the mid $300’s with similar amenities for the neighborhood.
The last community we will discuss today is PGA Verano. A much older community you will find two different styles of homes by Kolter homes. The community was started in 2007 and you will see that Mediterranean architecture of the first phase while the second phase is a much more modern and clean looking development. The facility is in quite as large as the amenities of Riverland and seems a little more dated but it is a wonderful community to look at if you want to stay away from a 55+ community.
