A Day in Riverland Port St Lucie

A Day in Riverland Port St Lucie

This morning a woke up and decided what my day in Riverland Port St Lucie was going to entail. It was a Saturday morning and being I’ve been to the gym all week today I decided to start my day at the pickleball courts. My neighbor and friend meet me there so we put our paddles in the rack and started to warm up and stretch those old muscles while we waited our turn. The sun was blasting at 8 am so I threw on my sunscreen, wet my gator which I wear to cover my face and threw on my favorite Steamboat Pickleball hat.

We started in the intermediate courts to get warmed up and after a few games headed over to the advanced courts for some challenging games. Just like any sport some days you can’t miss a shot and other days you can’t hit one. Today was a good day. Hit many good shots, was hitting the corners and was just a good game. We played several hours and with the heat it was time to call it quits. Great way to start the weekend on the pickleball courts in Riverland.

More activities in Riverland

After sweating and getting a nice workout on the courts we decided with the heat today to go and relax at one of the lap pools. We had reserved a lane and walked for a half hour in the refreshing water plus got a bit more exercise but definitely a better temperature in the water. Of course changed my baseball cap to my wide bream sun hat and keep my long sleeve SPF shirt on. Next relaxed and dried off on the chairs which was pleasantly shaded by the fitness center. Just so many activities here in Riverland.

All that work now it was time to feed the body and I invited an old friend from Boca over for lunch at the Walk. He had just moved back from California and bought a home in PGA Verano just down the street. PGA Verano Homes are built by Kolter and offer some wonderful floor plans as well but lack some of the amenities of Riverland.

Lunch at Valencia Walk

Each Valencia section in Riverland features a clubhouse encompassed with a resort style pool and a tiki bar and restaurant. It was quite hot here in August so we decided to have lunch inside and like usual the food was terrific and the service was great. A fine assortment of lunch specials and priced very well. We enjoyed a nice lunch and then strolled off to show my friend our new Bimini home in Riverland. After a great lunch at Valencia Walk I was almost ready for an afternoon Siesta.

Riverland Floorplan – Bimini Model

The Bimini was the perfect size house for us with 3 bedrooms and a den plus 3 full baths. The open floor plan is spacious and the laundry room off the garage is quite large with room for laundry and a full size bench where you can store your shoes and hang your clothes when coming home. From selling real estate for 20+ years and living in an active 55+ community where everyone buys a golf cart we ordered the extra golf cart garage along with the extended two car garage which was perfect for my full size Ford F-150. Even if we didn’t have a golf cart the extra space is great for storage and the extended garage option also widens the golf cart garage an extra 2 feet for bikes and toys. After a quick tour of our home it was time to relax here at home and look out at the man made waterway behind our house and just relax until dinner. Yes, another fun filled day here at Riverland. No matter what the day or mood I seem to always find some activity to keep me busy and enjoy the retirement days of this Florida Boomer community. Definitely when looking for an active 55+ Florida community come visit us here at Riverland in Port St. Lucie by GL Homes.
