Pro’s & Con’s of Living in Riverland Port St Lucie
Retirement is near and now the decision to find a community to spend your retirement years in. Now there are so many choices. Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and each has its own number of Active 55+ Communities. Everyone has heard of the Villages in Florida, one of the largest 55+ communities that spans for miles. No longer are the 55+ communities tiny little Winter vacation homes built in the 70’s such as Century Village, Kings Point and Wynmoor Village. More and more retirees are now calling Florida their primary residence and want larger homes with amenities. Riverland in Port St Lucie fulfills these needs. Today I’m going to talk about the Pro’s & Con’s of living in Riverland in Port St Lucie.
Riverland Amenities in Port St Lucie
One of the largest perks to the 4 Valencia Communities in Riverland built by GL Homes is the amenities. All I can say is “Wow”. Once you enter the Sports Complex you are greeted by rows and rows of pickleball, tennis and Bocce courts with a pro shop on site. These is the first phase and just across the Paseo which is the path that runs between the 4 communities are more courts being built for a total of 52 Pickleball courts and 8 will be covered. Seeing that just amazed me. Inside we walk into a 50,000 sq. ft complex comprising a fitness center, club rooms for Yoga, Pilates and other fitness classes. Open up one of the doors and you find a full gymnasium with basketball courts and is also used for Volleyball and Ping Pong. Wait there is more. Walk down the hallway and an Olympic size indoor lap pool. Step outside and two Olympic lap pools plus a resistance pool and two hot tubs.
There’s more they are adding an additional 12,000 sq. ft of fitness rooms and the new Riverfresh Cafe where you can grab breakfast, a Smoothie or lunch. Great place to rejuvenate after a workout and say hello to your neighbors.
Riverland Social Club Port St Lucie
Each Riverland community known as Valencia Cay, Valencia Walk, Valencia Grove and Valencia Parc each offers a 30,000 sq. ft Social Clubhouse featuring Resort pool, outdoor bar & restaurant plus a community room for shows and smaller club rooms for clubs in Riverland. Don’t forget the sports room featuring billiards and TV’s. Like having your own private bar. Just the amenities make the community shine. Besides great amenities you will find plenty of social clubs, cooking classes and outdoor vegetable garden. All this and a 24 hour manned gate for peace of mind. So many Pro’s I’m not sure what the Con’s will be.
Riverland Port St Lucie Homes by GL Homes
Another beauty to Riverland in Port St Lucie are the selection of new and resale homes from Villas to 3,000+ sq. ft homes at an affordable price compared to living in Palm Beach County. Affordable home prices starting in the low $300’s for a villa and low $400’s for a single family home. So affordable living is another perk of Valencia. CBS construction, impact windows and built to the latest codes plus open floor plans and 9 or 10ft ceilings. Build a new home in Valencia Parc and pick your options. The choice of a new home or a resale and move in tomorrow.
Besides homes and wonderful walking paths plus the Paseo you can ride your golf cart of bike around the community. The well manicured and landscaped community is all new and fresh. Nothing like a modern new home and community. See all the homes for Sale in Riverland Port St Lucie below.
Port St Lucie Attractions
Just outside the Valencia communities by GL Homes Port St Lucie you will find many new restaurants, shoppes and conveniences at the entrance to the community. The new Riverland Publix is a two story grocery store that anchors several other businesses including the Ace of Carts when you start you golf cart shopping. They carry Denango, Evolution, Icon and a few other brands. You will enjoy the quick access to Publix through the Paseo and never have to hit a main road. At Traditions you will find several other shopping places and restaurants just a mile away.
Con’s to Living in Riverland
The Pro’s & Con’s of Living in Riverland in Port St Lucie definitely has so many more Pro’s than Con’s. The only real con I can say about living here is the proximity to the beaches on Hutchinson Island. There is no real quick and direct route so you have to go through Ft. Pierce or Jensen Beach to access the island and it will take you about 30 minutes to get there. You must make it a day to go over and enjoy the beaches on the island. When there don’t miss some nice waterfront restaurants on the Inlet in Ft Pierce. On the Edge, Buoy 12 and the Square Grouper. Hope this helps you in making a decision to call the community home.
