They were single story villas or single family homes much larger with features such as garages and additional living space. We were seeing more full time older residents and looking for a more upscale lifestyle. The clubhouses became larger, the facilities more grand but they were still geared to the less active adults.
Come 2020 and Covid we saw a complete change of landscape and buyers. Today many retirees are more active, moving to Florida earlier with remote jobs and buyers wanting even larger places. The advent and popularity of Pickleball really grew the active adult 55+ communities in Florida even more desirable.
